Since he was a teenager, Dr. Lance knew God had something big planned for him. He didn’t know what exactly, but he knew he had to be prepared for it when it came. He played college soccer in a small town at Rio Grande University, where he met his beautiful and inspiring wife, Lindsay, and went on to receive his dental education from the Ohio State University Dental School.
Military Service
Dr. Lance loves to serve others, so he started by serving his country for six years. He was stationed at Ft. Campbell, KY for one year, Ft. Bliss, TX with the 1st Armored Division for two years, and Vicenza, Italy for three years. During this time, he volunteered at the Red Cross helping train other volunteers including the wives of deployed soldiers. Seeing these wives and mothers live without their husbands for a year or more really hit home—few people realize how hard life can be for military families.
Giving Back
While he is just beginning this journey of starting his own dental practice to fulfill his life’s work, he is a man with a plan to make the world a better place. He is a strong believer in living life according to your own core values and is dedicated to helping others find strength in their own lives. Dr. Lance loves to give back in any way he can, including being a regular blood donor and going on a dental mission trip to Honduras that opened his eyes and helped him realize how truly blessed we are.
Family Life
With each move to a new station location, he and Lindsay welcomed a new baby—Allison, Jackson, Amelia, and James. He knew that being a good husband and father was the greatest calling he could ever have, but his calling for caring did not stop there. Looking around, seeing so many people struggling, he knew he needed to do more to help beyond his own family.
Mission for Good
By doing what is right for others and establishing meaningful personal relationships, Dr. Lance is on a mission to bring the most profound impact to the greatest number of people in our community and beyond.
Lindsay Lance is from the Lockland area of Cincinnati and has lived in many places, ranging from Tennessee to Texas to Italy. She now calls Lebanon, Ohio home.
Lindsay graduated from Lockland High School in 2003 and received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Rio Grande in Young Adult Mathematics in 2007. She was licensed as an Ohio mathematics teacher for grades 7-12. She played competitive volleyball for the University of Rio Grande for four years and continues to play today in recreational leagues.
Lindsay is married to Dr. Lance, and together they have four beautiful children – Allison, Jackson, Amelia, and James – who enjoy sports, dancing, playing, and many other active pursuits. Lindsay loves playing with her kids and spending time with her family in general.
Lindsay’s favorite part of the job is interacting with and getting to know people. She is excited to be working with the Miami Valley Smiles team and knows that the practice will do wonderful things for their patients and the community.
Front office guru Kylie grew up in the Hamilton/Fairfield region of Ohio. She studied nursing at Butler Tech while still in high school. After graduating high school in 2015, Kylie realized her true passion was dentistry, and she took dental assisting at the Academy of Dental Assisting and Professional Training. Kylie holds a radiology license, is CPR/First Aid-certified, and is currently attending classes at Sinclair Community College to become a dental hygienist in the future.
Kylie especially enjoys the small family atmosphere at the Miami Valley Smiles office. Her favorite part of her work is interacting and building relationships with patients every day.
Kylie is part of a very large family that includes 4 siblings, 6 nephews, 4 nieces and a cockapoo dog named Grace. In her spare time, she enjoys being surrounded by family and friends. Kylie also enjoys volunteering in her community and partaking in mission trips to Haiti.
Hygienist Katy started her dental career at 19 years old in 2006 and has worked in the field ever since. In addition to her hygiene skills and experience, Katy is licensed as an EFDA (Expanded Function Dental Auxiliary), which means she has the training to do extra jobs such as filling placement after Dr. Lance removes decay from the tooth. Katy loves that part of her job.
Since Katy has that additional skill set, she was given the opportunity to mentor, teach, and travel all over the US. She learned a great deal and feels very fortunate to have had the opportunities and experience she has had in the dental field. Katy is also very excited to work with Dr. Lance because he shares the same values and goals as she does – she appreciates being part of Miami Valley Smiles and feels completely aligned with the mission and what the practice wants to accomplish for its patients.
Katy says: “What I’m most proud of is my husband and children. I have a wonderful husband named Jamie and twin boys, Ryan and Kyle. Oh boy, do they hold my heart and make me complete! If I’m not working or spending time with my family, you will find me in the gym. I try to stick to a plant-based diet but have a soft spot for candy! I also love street bikes, four wheelers and being outside. I’m a tomboy at heart.”
Kerri Schenk has been practicing dental hygiene for almost 15 years. She grew up in Indiana where she received her license, and has been living in the Mason area and practicing locally for eight years.
Kerri says: “I absolutely love what I do! My goal with every appointment is to make sure the patient is comfortable and that I’m doing a high-quality job on every single patient. I am a people person and love building relationships with the practice.”
Kerri is a huge Colts fan. She has a wonderful husband, Ryan, and two beautiful daughters Aspen, 8 years old and Amelia, 4 years old, and also has a cat named Maddy.
Anna started her career in the dental field here at Miami valley smiles. Although she is new to the dental field, she has been working in health care since 2015 and she enjoys helping her patients or coworkers leave with a smile on their face.
When Anna is not at work, she enjoys spending all the time she can outdoors with her dog Arlo, traveling with her husband Dorian, and spending time with family. She and her husband also volunteer their time to teach others about the bible and share God’s promises for the future. She is always ready for a new adventure and laughing along the way.
We’d love to show you why our care is something to smile about.
